After our arduous trek yesterday, I left August at home, and did short walks before and after work. In my readings about the Camino, there are many references to the wonderful food and wine along the route. I need to work on that!
Since the current shelter in place orders, I have been cooking much more, baking bread, and eating every meal at home.
The stories from the Camino are full of evening meals with endless bottles of wine, and regional fare, sitting at communal tables and sharing stories of the trail. My experience is a bit different here, my regional fare includes kale smoothies, rice bowls, veggies with hummus ( well for today).
Other stories include staying in hostels with snorers, bed bugs and cold showers, so the luxury of sleeping in my own clean bed, with fresh towels for the showers, and the occasional snorts from August is not lost on me.
Buen Camino my friends.
